Our range of emotional support products

Sometimes it's hard for adults to put feelings into words. It's therefore not surprising that many children also struggle to do this.

Often from nowhere a child will have big feelings running through their body, affecting them in different ways and making them feel uncomfortable but don't know why.

Encourage your child to describe feelings more freely

To help children talk about their emotions it may help if they have an emotions bear.

They can use the bear to describe their feelings by saying "my bear feels...' and then go on to describe how they feel themselves. By taking the spotlight off the child and placing the ownership of their feelings on to the bear it can encourage a child to describe feelings more freely, which will allow them to explore the effect of that emotion to a deeper level.

Let your child explore their emotions.

By exploring the emotion, they can relate to how it makes them feel and know it is ok to feel outside their comfort zone.

A child that understands how they feel and why they feel the way they do is more likely to be able to release the emotion in an appropriate way.
