Here are just some of the things parents tell us when they reach out for our help.

“I want my child to have more confidence”

“I want my child to be happy, they seem so sad and withdrawn”

“I want my child to understand their emotions and how they affect others”

“I don’t know how to help”

“I don’t know why my child is so angry all the time”

“My child’s behaviour at home is horrendous but at school they are the model child. What am I doing wrong?”

“My child will not try anything new, even though I know they want to join in”

“They give up so easily”

“I’m tired and mentally exhausted and I don’t know how to help my child”

The parent / child sessions are interactive session. For young adult’s parents do not need to be present.

When a child’s wellbeing is out of balance

There are three elements of wellbeing: emotional, mental, and physical. If one of these elements isn't functioning effectively it will affect the other two and a child's ability to function on a day-to-day basis will be compromised.

A private one to one session is tailored to your child’s needs.

We explore emotions and discover what they are and most importantly why we have them.

We open dialog to your child’s personal challenges and start to recognise how emotions have a physical effect on their body, so they can deal with their feelings appropriately, especially when they become angry, frustrated or overwhelmed.

What happens in a private session?

The private sessions are a safe place, where everyone’s voice is heard without judgement. We will facilitate you (as your child’s champion, coach, mentor and guide) and your child through fun activities, whilst working on specific areas of concern.

Our aim is to improve a family’s day to day dynamics by helping your family understand how the change of mindset as well as understanding the world of emotions, can be hugely beneficial for all involved.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I tell if my child is struggling with their wellbeing?

Often children will initially show signs of poor wellbeing through their behaviour. Children find it hard to explain how they feel but know they are not comfortable so will communicate this through behaviour that challenges. They may develop personality changes, mood swings or a reluctance to attend school. They may withdraw from clubs and friends and have little or no thought for themselves or others.

What is the difference between the workshop and private session?

Workshops are great and provide an insight of the subject matter.

A private one to one session is personal and designed for YOUR child’s individual needs.

Do parents need to be present at the session?

For children aged 4 – 12, parents should be present throughout the session. Understanding emotions and how we act to them is complex and children are likely to need help to understand how uncomfortable emotions affect them.

Teenagers can attend sessions without adult support.

How many sessions do I need?

Sessions can be booked weekly, bi-weekly, every three weeks, monthly or ad hoc.

Each session will be beneficial. The more sessions you have the greater the benefit.

What if I can’t attend the session?

We understand that you may need to change your appointment. If you do, please provide at least 48 hours’ notice. Any cancellation within the 48-hour notice period will be subject to a cancellation fee of 50%. Any missed appointment, without any notice of cancellation will be charged at the full rate for the session.

Can I bring more than one child to the session.

The sessions are designed for one child at a time. However, the first session can be attended by the whole family.
